Question regarding learning a new position

Will it happen faster/better in the major leagues?

Also, is there ANY hope in hell of this guy becoming even halfway competent in left field? I already have an all star 1b and just locked him up to a 7 year extension (age 26).

I doubt the first guy will be as good in left as ManRam. His outfield ratings are really bad. He may be worth it anyway depending on your hitting situation but he looks like trade bait to me.
