eMLB Seeks Six
eMLB.....an OOTP baseball simulation!
Hi guys, eMLB is currently seeking six GMs. Due to inactivity on both ends (including a hectic lifestyle change on my end), this is a great time to get into one of the oldest online leagues in sports. July capped the 12th birthday since eMLB began way back in 2000, and while the soon to be teenage league has had its ups and downs, it still continues committed to a fun and enjoyable experience. Dedication to the league by yours truly remains, despite some personal battles, and the league hopes to have you join it as it enters the pivotal July trading deadline. eMLB 2.0 is currently in July 2001, its 4th season in the reboot. The teams available (all NL): Arizona Diamondbacks - 35 - 56, 23.5 GB It might be another long season for the D'Backs. Having finished last the previous two seasons, the present looks a little bleak, but the future has serious potential with the draft picks made. With talent such as Steve Lampkin, Pepe Clarke, Shane Victorino, Jeff Depippo and Skip Schumaker, the Diamondbacks can compliment their current lineup of young stars like C A.J. Pierzynski, 1B Aubrey Huff, 2B Ramon Martinez, 3B Garrett Atkins, OFs Scott Podsednik and Ryan Church. Pitching is what the team will look to build on in the coming years, and it appears there's another high draft pick on the horizon for the team. Can you turn this franchise around and make it a perennial superstar? Philadelphia Phillies - 33-58, Last in NL East, 17.5 GB The Phillies made the postseason last year, on a really low payroll. It was an terrible offseason for the team, and it has paid the price. Add to that key injuries to Jorge Posada, Jimmy Rollins, and Alex Fernandez this season, it's unlikely to be a great finish. There's great talent on the team in a 26 year old Scott Rolen, 27 year old Bobby Abreu, a young 21 year old rookie named Walker Smith. What the team needs is someone willing to look over the Waiver Wire, sign Free Agents to build their farm system, and draft smart. Pittsburgh Pirates - 55-37, Second in NL Central, 11.5 GB One season removed from their World Series loss to the Orioles, the Pirates are poised to see the postseason again, but as a Wild Card due to the amazing performance by the Astros this season. Consistent pitching, combined with phenomenal hitting have been the winning formula for the Bucs. Andruw Jones (currently injured), Jason Kendall, Aramis Ramirez, and the speedy Rafael Furcal lead the offensive attack. The team does not have a deep farm system, but the core can compete and contend for several seasons. With a solid budget, and plenty of room in the payroll (24th in league) to attract talent, the Pirates have great potential to see back to back postseasons...but getting back to the World Series will be the bigger challenge. San Francisco Giants - 59-33, First in NL West The consistent G-Men finally seem to have turned a corner, despite being headless the entire season. With the current biggest questions of the future being "Do you keep Barry Bonds and Jeff Kent?", the immediate future is to get to their first postseason. Currently 8 games ahead of the Dodgers, the Giants seem poised to make this happen, but recent injuries to Jeff Kent and Russ Ortiz may hamper this. Bonds is 36, Kent is 33...both are still productive, but Free Agents next season. Both have been rumored to be willing to stay, but an inside source has said both are looking for contracts that will have them see their 40s, which may not be very realistic. How to Apply: Contact LB at commissioner at emlb-baseball dot com, or send a message on AIM to eMLBCommish. Please indicate your top 3 teams in order of preference, and provide a little background on your online experience. eMLB has been willing to train people new to online leagues, but we still prefer you have some experience prior to joining us. We are not an easy league! There are complex rules to make this more a thinking man's league for long-term planning!

4 teams remain. See the first post for the remaining teams available.
We are contemplating a move to OOTP 13 thanks to the "Group Purchase" option available.
