7-Day Lineups vs. AI Lineups

What do you find is the biggest difference/plus/minus between having the AI manager handle lineups/pitching vs. using the 7-Day?

Aside from possibly being able to set up some kind of platoon with like-handedness, I see them as being sort of the same?

Curious to know, both for online and offline games/sims?

I sim by letting my manager run the club. But there are times when I want a certain guy to get some playing time, so I will use the 7-day lineups to give him a run of starts and see what he can do. Often use it for old vets to see if they still have what it takes to play. That is the only time I can recall using it, and i have used it this way a few times.
