Who wants to brag a little?
I want to know who the best pitchers and hitters are that you've had on your team so far in iOOTP 2012.
As far as hitters, I had a fella in my fictional league named Pete Ford who was a 4 star, 30 year old player who batted .398 with 59 home runs. Of course he only did this for one season as in the next year I promptly lost him to injury for 2 months before he announced his retirement due to post-concussion syndrome. My pitchers? Nothing to brag about yet. What do you have? |

I had a hitter Kevalin Suderlain who was my first pick in the inaugural draft who was 27 years old when I got him, and he ended his career with over 600 HRs. He was an absolute monster and won the triple crown 3 years in a row! The sad thing was he still wanted an absurd amount of money for how much his skills had declined and I had to let him go at age 39, where he played part-time/back up role for 3 more years in the league.

I just recently had my two all time greats retire.
SP Pedro Moran: Inducted into the HoF in 2060 after a 20 year career 313 wins, 159 losses, 3724 K, ERA of 2.98, 12 time All Star, one Gold Glove, 4 Cy Young awards. He was in a dead heat for the most wins in league history with another SP. They both came in the same year, similar stats, but the other guy fell off the cliff just one half season later and ended up with 317 wins, but Moran had him in all the other stats. and they were both inducted the same year. LF Emilio Ybarra: Inducted in 2070 after a 22 year career (He would have happily kept playing, but his stats had dipped so low I couldn't justify the million or so he wanted to get his one or two AB a year) 740 HR (All time leader, beating out ARod by 15), 2895 Hits, .291 Career avg., 2090 RBI, 1800 Runs Scored, 83 Triples. 13 seasons of 40+ HR, 3 50+ HR years, and one 60 HR season. He won the triple crown in the 60 HR season with 166 RBIs and a .365 average. 12 time all star, only got outstanding hitter once surprisingly. Hit 44 HR with a .297 average at the ripe old age of 40. But when the end finally came, it hit him hard. Dropped from a 8 CH 10 PH guy (His defense had been declining for years) to a 5 CH 7 PH, and then by the end of that season was down to 3-5. |
