Newspaper > HTML ?

Just curious if the plan to output the newspaper stories from a start date to an end date is still in the plan for 13?

Yeah I'd like to see newspaper stories like Mogul instead of just some half azzed html text. Have some ads in it and offer it to some outside advertisers for new games or products like the real newspapers. Even check out couponmon.com and see if they can incorporate their monthly coupons into your game newspaper!! You could make a fortune off of this idea and give me 10% finders fee.

I think the original discussion was to create an HTML "newspaper" where we could add our own newspaper name, a feature article (optional), current standings, and stories from date1 to date2 newest to oldest. This would make a nice addition to a league website or could be converted to a PDF archive.

It is not planned yet, but you never know, maybe it sneaks in

Been thinking - if the description above for this request can't be fit into the development schedule, could the newspaper stories at least be made available in html from a starting date to an end date? Those of us that can fudge html code can maybe add the other things to accomplish our hometown newspaper

Lacking a newspaper format in 13, can an option be added to at least print out all the stories for a season before moving to the next year? I hate to lose all that "icing" which helps document past season histories.

There is, I believe, an option to preserve all boxscores, transactions, and news from a season in the almanac. I haven't looked to see just how much it preserves, but I would think, with a qualifier like "all"...it would be kosher.

Good to see you around, Henry. I've always loved your stuff, and what you bring to the boards.

First off, thanks for the kind words - greatly appreciated.

About the Almanac; Yes and No. Yes, the stories can be saved. No, there's no function to actually print them out. You can see one story at a time if you go the team pages and your willing to change story number in the URL one at a time, but there is no "newspaper" listing per se.

Below is something I cut and pasted to show what I'm thinking about, but with 500-700 stories a season, there's no way one could do this manually.

I was hoping one could (within the game so it could be done during the season) list a start date and an end date, and maybe even a team (would be nice) to create an HTML list that would look similar to the sample below.

Ah, I see what you're pining for. I would like the same thing. Would make dynasties and online leagues a heck of a lot better and rich with the history.

I apologize for the sloppy cut-and-paste attempt below, but I thought it was important to display what I see in my own head IF Markus would chose to create a real newspaper option for the game. I've tried to assemble something like this manually, and to be honest it could be done with enough effort and 3rd party tools, but the result just isn't worth the amount of work. It would be SOooo great if we could answer a couple questions, pick a couple options, and print this out at any point in the season to an HTML format.

Let me again point out, however, that if this idea is too complex to implement, an option to print stories from a start date to an end date to HTML would be a huge step in allowing us to do the newspaper manually
