Draft location question
All,
I am getting ready to do the amateur draft and I noticed I have 2 picks in the first round. Is there someplace that explains why you have those picks? I know one is because of position in last years schedule but no clue why I have another. BTW, I am playing with the 2012 CBA if that matters Thx, jonpfl |

Is it a compensation pick?
Did you make a trade for a pick? |

Actually, I now remember that I couldn't sign my 1st round pick the previous year. I believe he was #5 overall. In that case, what happens?
Do I get the #5 pick again? Is there someone in the game I can see why I have extra picks? Thx jonpfl |

My guess is that a free agent who was on your team last year signed somewhere else and you got a compensation pick.
The draft section of the manual does a pretty decent job of explaining this. |

I believe the rule still is that you would get the #6 pick if you couldn't sign the #5 pick...I'm not sure if you can find why you might have extra picks
