What does Force Start/Use at Position REALLY mean?

It seems to me that this could mean one of 2 things:
1) When this player enters the game as either a starter or off the bench, he must play at this position.
OR
2) This player must start this and every other game at this position until this setting is changed.

Anyone know which one it is? I have a manager who is sub happy. Late in every game, he pinch hits for my 3B, then brings a utility guy to play 2B and moves my 2B to 3B. Problem is this guy is murder at 3rd. At least 2 errors every game. All I want is to tell my manager never to play this guy at 3rd. Otherwise he can do whatever he wants. Will setting this field to 2B make this happen?

Probably not. He can still move him to another position during the game.

However, if you order him never to pinch-hit for your 3B, it might stop him.
