If I play a historical game, do players enter the amateur draft the year they did in real life?

No. Players enter the amateur draft in the year that they made their MLB debut.
However, if you want players to debut when they were initially signed as free agents or drafted into MLB, there is a mod database from Garlon and Spritze that allows you to do this. You have to use the neutralized stats option in OOTP, and you have to backup your original historical database and replace it with the Garlon/Spritze version. You can download the database at OOTPMODS.COM. NOTE: their database also contains many historical Negro League players, Japanese players, and even some long-term minor league players that never made it to MLB. So those players will end up in your historical league depending on the seasons you play. |

Are you sure the database for OOTP 12 are compatible with OOTP 13? Usually it isn't the case, unless no changes were made to the players database this year...
