Need Advice --- Coaching in Minors
Ok. I am new to the game series. Loving it so far. I started as a manager in the California League. After one year I was promoted to AA manager.
From what I can tell I cannot control any trades, promotions, demotions, etc.... It is all handled from the Major League team I am tied to correct? Well the problem is my staff stinks. I have gone from bad to worse. I am shifting lineups and trying to coach through it, but it is getting worse. I dont want to start over. I would like to work my way up the Major Leagues but I am fearful that I will end up in a cycle of bad talent and I cannot control it. Any advice for a newbie? |

Just be patient when you coach in the minor. I coached in the minor with OOTP 12 and after 5 seasons I was always stuck at the Short A level (I was in the Rookie league 2 seasons before being promoted). Don't worry you will get some good players (sometimes not for a long time) when your parent team will start signing its drafted players. BTW a bad season can happen, by exemple my first season in the Short A after I won the Rookie League championship was a disaster (I think my winning % was less than .350). |
