Question Importing into OOTP 13

Entering the 3rd season of my Padres franchise. Last year when I imported from OOTP 11 I was mid-way through the 2011 season. I'm one game away from completing Spring Training 2012 and I was wondering if I should wait until the OOTP 13 release to proceed to the regular season? Or does it matter?

Two other questions are, if I wait to import, and THEN start my regular season, will it automatically update the new MLB playoff structure? Or since the regular season schedule is already created will it revert to the pre-2012 format.

Also, I'm a bit puzzled about the draft pool. Last year the game randomly generated fictitious players. If I import from OOTP 12 (my franchise was originally started in OOTP 11) will a more real world draft pool be created by OOTP 13? Or is this something I would have to import from an outside file? I missed out on the players from the June 2011 draft and I was hoping not to miss the 2012 crop.

Markus said in a post the other day that importing mid season should not cause any trouble. Though to be safe I still plan on keeping a back up in 12 just in case

I am not sure if it would automatically update, I doubt it would for this season either way. You would have to wait until the off-season most likely, though if it does not update automatically, you would just need to go into the game setup and change the playoff structure there. You can also at this time edit the structure of the league if you want to move move Houston to the AL.

There may be a way to import the new draft pool, though I am not sure if it has been created yet, they may have to patch it in closer to the actual draft. I generally make a fictional league or use the mlb structure with fictional players, so I never had much need for an accurate draft.
