Starting a new league, scouting budgets?
I've started a new league where scouting is on. Looking through the other teams on commissioner mode, I noticed that none of the teams apparently have any amount of money dedicated to any sort of scouting.
Despite that, the scouting screens say that the "League Average" is $1,000,000. Do I need to go through in Commish mode and make the teams pay money for scouting? |

The "League Average" on the scouting screen will display whatever is setup in the league financial settings.
Teams that are over-budget when spring training begins will be forced to operate with 1/2 of the league average. The start of spring training is also when teams with excess budget room will adjust their scouting and development allocations. . Last edited by snepp; 02-28-2012 at 07:57 PM. |

So you're saying that the only reason there isn't any number in their scouting budget is because the league hasn't "started" yet?
Like, I should sim a day forward, get past the initial draft, and see what happens then? |

Yup all will be well once you hit spring training of your first year. Might even be well if you sim ahead one day. I can't remember for sure though.
In future years though remember changes can only be made in the preseason to your scouting budget.
