Auto-Contraction or options for manual contraction
I would first off like to say that I realize what I am about to may be way too difficult to add into the game but it is something I would find extremely useful.
I usually start a historical league in 1900 and simulate until the current year to create my own history. At that point I let the league evolution take over. I have noticed that the league evolution expands way too often creating leagues that are entirely too large and unrealistic. I would like to propose that the auto league evolution gains an auto-contraction check box, where during a time of economic hardship or etc. the league decides to drop a few teams and most importantly cuts the minor league teams as well. The players could just all become free agents, maybe not realistic but for my needs it works. I currently have to do this manually by choosing teams that peform horribly financially and then going into each minor league and finding the associated teams. When I do this manually the only benefit over an auto-contraction feature is that I am able to say keep the Yankees even when they perform horribly because of the history of the team but teams like the Tigers, I have no sympathy for because Detroit is a dead town and can't support them and they get cut regardless of history. In conclusion, is there any way to either add auto-contraction or at a minimum make manual contraction easier by adding something like having a delete all associated minor leagues option when deleting a team? This would be very useful in simulating real 19th century formats. The quasi-historical 19th century is really a function of the game not contracting well. In the 19th century the leagues were just as likely to contract as expand due to the extreme economic hardship of 1873-1879 and the boom bust of the 1880's. Things stabilized after the player revolt of '90 but contracted again with AL competition.

There should be the option to hold a dispersal draft when clubs are disbanded, I agree.

That might be best. In the 19th century after the reserve clause teams often retained reserve rights to players and were allow them to sell them after disbanding. This might be the next best alternative to real life as opposed to teams bidding for players that were on folded clubs. I could go either way that. Teams often paid much more than contract value for stars but the contract didn't go up when the new team bought them.
