MLB Franchise in BUFFALO
In 2012, instead of the Florida Marlins relocating to Miami, management has decided to relocate to Buffalo, New York. Buffalo finally has a MLB Team after being denied way back in 1991. The team will be called the Buffalo Bisons. (AAA team to move elsewhere).
Just started... A lot more to come! here are the new divisions, only 1 swap (Going for a Toronto vs Buffalo Rivalry) ![]() ![]() |

That's the division I always wish the Rays were in.
I look forward to your story!

Here are the Financials of Buffalo on Opening Day
Probably going to have to adjust to the new budget while the year gets going. Also I had to get rid of salary so I traded Hanley Ramirez (15 mil+) for Yu Darvish (5 mil+) To me baseball is all about defense. My philosophy is Pitching > Hitting. You cant win a championship with bad pitching. (btw: My trading is a on hard and favors prospects.) ![]() |

Buffalo Bisons STAFF (I don't use stars for potential. Use the 20-80 rating)SP Josh Johnson (R, 28, 72-72, 13,750,000) - The ace of the Buffalo Bisons staff. One of the leaders in the clubhouse. Has a nice fastball that goes 93-95 mph, but also has nice secondary pitches in a Slider, Sinker, and Change-up. I expect him to win at least 15 games with an era below 3.00. He is at the end of his contract, but I expect to resign him because he is a big part of this staff. SP Anibal Sanchez (R, 28, 40-41, 8,000,000) - In my opinion Sanchez is a great pitcher that is a great complement to Johnson. He relies on off speed pitches rather than his fastball. He's not going to blow anybody away (91-93). But the thing that separates Sanchez is he has 6 pitches! He throws a Fastball, Sinker, Cutter, Curveball, Slider, Change-up. SP Mark Buehrle (L, 33, 46-46, 6,000,000) - The veteran of the staff. Also is the only lefty of the starting rotation. Another pitcher who relies on his off speed. His fastball is only 84-86 mph but he is also a 5 pitch pitcher. I expect him to win 10-13 games with a mid 3 era. SP Yu Darvish (R, 25, 71-73, 5,000,000) - An exciting move before the season started, we acquired Yu Darvish from the Rangers in exchange for Hanley Ramirez. Wasn't a big fan of Hanley and he was making too much for Buffalo's budget. Darvish is young, and has great stuff. Could be the future #1 pitcher for this team. SP Carlos Zambrano (R, 30, 50-50, 2,550,000) - A risky move considering Zambrano's track record with attitude around the clubhouse. We hope that he gets his act together in a new environment. MR Mike Dunn (L, 26, 49-54, 480,000) - A hard throwing lefty. Also has an absolutely nasty slider. This is the last year of his contract and I expect him to play his butt off to earn another contract. MR Ryan Webb (R, 26, 20-20, 480,000) - Reliever who doesn't throw a fastball. All he has is a Slider, Sinker and Change-up. Also in the last year of his contract. MR Chad Gaudin (R, 29, 23-30, 480,000) - Okay reliever who throw 93 mph and has some nice off speed. But he likes drinking after games and I think his production suffers from it. Could possibly trade during season. MR Edward Mujica (R, 27, 72-74, 1,625,000) - Probably my go to guy in the bullpen. When there are tight spots in ballgames I'll probably go to Edward to get me out of the jam. MR Randy Choate (L, 36, 65-65, 1,500,000) - the veteran in the bullpen. Other guys look up to Randy. Although he is coming to the end of his career, I still think he's got some good baseball left in him. CL Heath Bell (R, 34, 78-78, 6,000,000) - An early fan favorite in Buffalo. Fans love his effort and style when he comes out on the baseball field. I expect 40+ saves from him this year. |

Buffalo Bisons POSITION PLAYERS To me pitching is more important, but man, I love the youth and talent of our offense. RF Giancarlo Stanton (R/R, 22, 73-80, 480,000) - This man is a strong human being. Last year he hit 34 Hr and 87 RBI at age 21. I expect him to be an exceptional player in Buffalo and could very well be the face of this franchise moving forward. SS Jose Reyes (S/R, 28, 80-80, 10,000,000) - Love Jose Reyes in the three spot in the lineup. Has all the tools, a complete player. Great Hitter, Great Fielder, and he's fast. Batting with the protection of Stanton behind him should give him a huge opportunity to put up big numbers for Buffalo this year. He's signed through 2018 so expect him to be in Buffalo for a while. 1B Gaby Sanchez (R/R, 28, 73-74, 480,000) - This guy is a steal for his contract only being at 480,000. He isnt the best fielder, but man, he can hit, and get on base. He had a .350 OBP last year. He will be batting behind Stanton, which is the perfect spot because pitchers will have to pick their poison. Great protection hitter for Stanton. CF Emilio Bonifacio (S/R, 26, 34-41, 2,200,000) - The lead off hitter for this team. He is fast as hell and stole 40 bases last year for Florida. He batted .296 and had an OBP of .360. I expect him to have a nice year. He's a nice prototypical lead off hitter. 2B Omar Infante (R/R, 30, 36-36, 2,500,000) - Buffalo's starting second baseman. Manager has him batting second. An average player who won't cost me anything, playing wise or money wise. C John Buck (R/R, 31, 30-30, 6,000,000) - This guy probably wont be in a Buffalo uniform before season's end. He is making too much money for his production. He batted .227 last year and Buffalo can't afford his contract. 3B Matt Dominguez (R/R, 22, 22-61, 480,000) - Great fielder. Expect him to be starting third baseman for years to come in Buffalo. Excited to see Matt grow with Stanton. DH/CF Bryan Peterson (L/R, 26, 21-21, 480,000) - Will bat DH when team is facing righties. LF Chris Coghlan (L/R, 26, 23-40, 480,000) - Probably will only face Right handed pitching. He is not a very good hitter vs. lefties. 2B Donnie Murphy (R/R, 29, 21-21, 480,000) - Utility guy. LF Austin Kearns (R/R, 31, 21-21, 480,000) - Will split time with Chris Coghlan. Last edited by Stockey; 10-16-2012 at 02:34 PM. |

"Buffalo Stuns Toronto"
50,000 people were in Toronto to witness the first ever match-up between the Buffalo Bisons and the Toronto Blue Jays .The crowd was loud and rowdy as fans from both teams made up the crowd. The players on the field were pumped up. Anibal Sanchez quickly shutup the crowd and went on to throw 9 strong innings for the complete game as the Buffalo Bisons stunned the Toronto crowd in a convincing 4-0 shutout. With the Win the Bisons are 3-4 on the season. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Stockey; 10-16-2012 at 02:47 PM. |

Monthly Report - April
Buffalo Bison went 12-11 in April. Every month I'll do something called a GBU (Good, Bad, and the Ugly). The GBU relates ONLY to the CURRENT month not the season as a whole. (AVG/OBP/SLG) GOOD - Josh Johnson is pitching like a TRUE ACE (3-0, 1.32 ERA, 34 IP, 5 ER, 10 BB, 19 K) - Giancarlo Stanton is a stud (.289/.316/.611, 7 HR, 22 RBI, 5 BB, 1 SB) - Edward Mujica is a great option out of the bullpen (0.77 ERA, 11.2 IP, 1 ER) - Chris Coghlan has been a great surprise (53 AB, .340/.419/.415, 6 RBI) - John Buck has been a superb catcher for this team (.306/.383/.389, 1 HR, 9 RBI) - #1 In MLB in Stolen Bases with 29 (12 for Reyes, 11 for Benefacio). BAD - Donnie Murphy is performing poorly. (72 AB, .208/.240/.375) - Yu Darvish has not been living up to my expectations (1-2, 6.65 ERA, 21.2 IP, 16 ER, 18 K) UGLY - Omar Infante is OUT for 3 months with a fractured Ankle. - Scott Cousins (1 for 22 Batting) - Josh Johnson out for 1 week due to a dead arm, will be watching this situation closely. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Stockey; 10-17-2012 at 12:43 AM. |

Bisons Monthly Report - May
The Buffalo Bisons went 15-13 in May and hold a 27-24 Record. GBU Good - Giancarlo Stanton (8 HR, 20 RBI, .260/.325) - Stolen Bases (#1 in MLB) - Josh Johnson (2-0 in May) - Mike Dunn and Heath Bell have been SHUT down bullpen guys for me. Combined 32 IP with 2 ER. Bad - Donnie Murphy is not very good. .202 BA in May. - Gaby Sanchez is also struggling at the plate. (.228) Ugly - Yu Darvish is turning out to be a complete BUST Looking foward to the draft this month. This is where I need to shine to take a budget team to the postseason (#9 pick). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

MLB DRAFT
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...reply&t=225354 Buffalo Bisons have the number 9 pick in the 2012 MLB draft. I have three position on my mind for this pick. LF, SS, SP, C LF is a weakness for me, there is no solidified player out there. In terms of shortstop, Im looking in the future because I see Jose Reyes contract and I know that he will not be here in 2-4 years. Buffalo can't afford him. There were a lot of good SP prospects in this draft. The two SP I scouted were gone by the time it was my time to draft. I was contemplating between a LF and SS. I decided to go ahead and draft LF Heath McNeill out of Ohio State University. ![]() I loved the scouting reports on this guy. He can do everything on the field. Hit, Run, and field. Here were the rest of my picks, inlcuding a Shortstop in the 4th round from high school. ![]() Here is Heath McNeill's stats from his first month in professional baseball, things are looking pretty good! Jupitar Hammerheads - Florida State League (A) ![]() ![]() Heath is currently the #7 hitting prospect in the ML |

The Buffalo Bisons went 13-14 in June and is now 40-38. GBU (Only for the month of June) GOOD - Giancarlo Stanton continues to put up league leading numbers. (9 HR, 25 RBI, .273/.345) - Emilio Bonifacio had a BREAK OUT month. (.393/.440, 33 for 84, 11 RBI, 5 SB) - Chris Coghlan is also stepping up big time in LF batting .384 (73 AB) for the month. - Carlos Zambrano (5-0, 39 IP, 1.85 ERA) BAD - Stanton struck out in 31% of his at bats this month. - 7 of 11 pitchers had above 5.00 ERA. Crazy bad month for pitching. UGLY - Gaby Sanchez batted .155 in June. - Yu Darvish, 'nough said. Trade Deadline is Approaching!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Trade Deadline.
I know this is really boring (for me and you) but I made no moves. I really tried to move some pieces but could never get the right return. To get a better understanding of the players in this organization, i'm going to keep them all for the year. |
