Is there a way to know whether or not a pitcher will learn a new pitch?
Sometimes I see guys (draft and free agents) with a 2 pitch repotoire who look interesting to add to my team but I dont know (but would prefer) if they would learn another pitch or two. Is there an attribute that can increase the likelihood of a pitcher learning a new pitch? I read that pitchers tend to begin learning new pitches in spring training - but I didnt come across how that process happens. I assume its less likely a veteran will learn a new pitch (just my assumption) but does it depend on a pitchers intelligence? work ethic? or is it completely random? Is there something I can do with a player (outside of commish mode, and just creating a new pitch) that will increase the likelihood of a pitcher picking up a new pitch? Maybe my pitching coach has an impact on this?
Any feeback is appreciated. Thanks. |
