Too many SO?

Hi there, i'm an spanish guy playing for fist time the OOTP series and i'm discovering the magic behind baseball.

I think the OOTP simulation is nearly perfect but my concern is about the number of Strikeouts the pitchers are earning in my league. Im playing an MLB quickstart game and i'm following the league day to day (for example, today i will play the games of 8th June).

The stats for most Strikeouts in my game are Verlander 104, Lincecum 94 and Hernandez 90. In the real MLB the stats for today are Hamels 86, Sabathia 86, and Verlander 86.

How can i reduce the number of SO in my game?
Thanks in advance!

Those numbers look pretty good to me. You have to remember that players are not being rated from the current season's stats. Verlander was better last year than he is this year, and so was Lincecum. If strikeouts are the worst numbers in your sim, then it's going remarkably well.

Those are very realistic numbers - I wouldn't change a thing.

Also, in real life teams are more careful not to use pitchers for too long in their first couple of starts, so the guys in your game could also have more innings pitched, which could also contribute to the amount of strikeouts.
