Brewers vs. Cardinals NLCS

Game 1 soon. Should be a good series with no love lost between these two teams.

Both benches already warned after Garcia plunked Fielder following Braun's 2-run HR.

Those Brewers have a certain swagger that is awesome to watch. It's like each Brewer doesn't just expect to get on base, he knows he's getting on base and is genuinely surprised when he doesn't.

It's great fun to watch.

Or it's annoying as crap watching them act like every time they get on base they just won the World Series.

I'd prefer to say its fun to watch... though I understand as a fan of another team in the NL Central how it would be pretty annoying.

I'm in-between on this issue. It's a fine line between enthusiasm and showing people up. I like the Brewers in general so they get a pass for now.

If it wasn't for the fact that the Brewers haven't been to the World Series in nearly 30 years, I think more people would dislike them. There is definitely a cockiness that is off-putting. But they're getting the haven't-been-there-in-forever love.

If they win this year, and then are in again next year, there will be a lot more hate.

Also it seems their directing their enthusiasm more with the crowd than at their opponents. You'll notice on both Yuni's and Prince's HR's yesterday that when they touched home plate they both did that beats mode thing toward the crowd. As well as Prince motioned at the Crowed before he high fived his teammate. I really think its more a team unity and fan base thing than anything directed at their opponents.

If they were motioning at their opponents when they did all that stuff then I would have a problem with it.

The Brew Crew doesn't seem to have their usual swagger tonight...could it be that they're getting hammered 11-2?

Just imagine if Fielder did the unexpected and re-signs with the Brewers.

Unless he takes a huge pay cut or the team goes over 100 Million in payroll that wont happen. And rumor is they lost money last year with a payroll of 90 Million so its unlikely that will happen. Though them losing money was reportedly because they paid off more of their debt than they initially intended to start the year but yea still unlikely for a 20 million dollar payroll bump when they have the smallest TV market in basesball.

They also have to deal with significant raises next year for, Weeks, Braun, Hart, and Gallardo.

Oh and this is me after tonight.

Nyjer doesnt talk near as much when he has a bad night both in the field and at the plate.

As for them not 'directing it at their opponents'..................that's not really the thing. I mean act like you've hit a HR before. You havent won the WS every time you get on base.

The Brewers dropping one at home is a big deal; the homefield advantage is gone now. I wonder if they'll give Marcum the ball again if this gets to a Game 6.

I can't imagine they'll re-sign Prince ... apparently, he'll ask for a 200 million-deal - and while I really like him a lot, he's no Pujols ...

Okay, Ryan Howard got similar money, but I don't think that it will make sense for the Brewers: Don't forget, they're still a small market team, and the Cubs will try and throw stupid money at him because they think a slugging first baseman alone will carry them to the post-season.
Just remeber the bidding war last year with Lee and Crawford.

Well, let's move on to Busch Stadium, but unless Greinke and Wolf get their act together (Greinke wasn't particular sharp this post-season despite getting two wins) and the Crew can find a way to beat Carpenter, it will be tough to get the series back to Milwaukee.

And if we're down 3:2 coming home, I doubt I would want to have the season rest on Marcum the way he has pitched over the last few weeks.

I guess I enjoy knowing the players are enjoying themselves playing a KIDS game. Watching robot players isn't fun.

Due to the raises that Gallardo, Braun, Weeks, and Hart will be getting Prince would have to take a HUGE hometown discount to stay here...

I think Narveson will get the call if Marcum's spot comes up again - he's been decent against the Cardinals and Marcum looks done for the year, his changeup just isn't working and he's a below average pitcher without it.
