Newbie Question

I have played a number of baseball simulation games on the PC, but having switched to a Mac platform several years ago and not finding any of the games with which I am familiar, I decided that I would try OOTP.

I am interested in being able to simulate a historical season in strict replay fashion - no salaries, no random trades or minor leaguers, no fictional players, etc.

Is there a simple way to set up, say, a 1965 replay and manage a team through a season?

Yes, there is a historical replay style mode that you can access through the wizard or when establishing all the settings yourself. Player ratings will be based only on the current season, and you can use the league creation wizard to decide your other settings. You can turn off or turn on almost anything in OOTP.

You can turn off finances, use only real life historical transactions, and only use real players. It's as simple as using the wizard and checking/unchecking boxes.
