Deke Young looking for an option to play out home games one at bat at a time.

I am an old, old man. I played Strat-O-Matic and Statis-Pro baseball on the tabletop. I like to build teams, set lineups and pitching rotations. I like to call the hit and run and decide when to pull my started and decide which reliever to use next.
Problem is that I want to be a manager, and after my first season with OOTP my impression is that the game is intended for General Managers. I really do not have any interest in being responsible for a minor league team, hiring a new pitching coach, setting ticket prices. I want to evaluate my players based on how they perform in a game rather than what numbers they put in a box score.
My commissioner has been kind enough to allow me to watch replays of the game. While this is far superior to a box score it is frustrating to press a mouse button over and over again when I know the outcome of a game, just to try to decipher why the manager pulled the pitcher, made a substitution, etc. And from what I can tell the AI pull starters based more on pitch count that if they walk 2 batters in a row, or if the team has a 4 run lead with a fatigued bullpen, etc.
I do like OOTP when I am playing it by myself, but I am not really enjoying it in my online league. Is there an option where the commissioner can set the league, I can play out my home games one at-bat at a time, then upload game results to the commissioner? This is how we played out season after season of board game simulated leagues.
I am going to stick with my current OOTP league, I am just looking to see if there are other people with a desire to manage a baseball game without trying to hit a pitch with a game console.

I've always been interested in something like this, I didn't know you could actually play your home games or set something similar to this up...

But I always wanted to be in a league that went anywhere from 1,2,3 games at a time on a daily basis.

I'm afraid that is currently not an option with OOTP.
