How Long Does the AVG Expansion Take?

I have many custom league, but in many of them I have expanded on my own. I was wondering what the average amount of time is between 1st season and expansion and then from 1st expansion to 2nd expansion.
I have my orig 8 teams for my Endor 2.0 league and I was wondering if the game will expand by 2-4 teams in the 1st 10 yrs. I play a 120 game schedule with interleague. In my original setup I expanded in 2004 (league started in 2003) 2009, 2012,2015,2019,2020,2030 & 2041 to give me 32 teams.

How long if starting in 2000 would it take me to get to that point?

I think these things are totally random. I had a league that expanded in the first season and I am in one now that still has the same amount of teams after 13 seasons.
