Fictional game without be a GM

Is there away to create a fiction league and not run a team? I just want to be the Commissioner. I would like to have override privileges and able to look at each team and still see every aspect of it day to day but not as a GM. Is the possible?

I have already created the league and at first was going to run a team but now I don't want to. Do I have to start all over in creating the league or can I resign and have a fictional GM run it now?

Resign from the team, put yourself in Commish Mode, and sim away.

Make sure all teams are set to be controlled by AI. (This can be done in league setup, options.)

Thanks. But I can't find the AI portion. I don't see it in league set up, option. Am I looking in the wrong place. I could be blind and it could be right in front of me.

Question with this. Since all other teams have a GM, after doing this will the AI generate a GM for the team I resigned from?

It should be there - there's a whole list of options and one of them should be "Set all teams to computer/AI control". The button along the bottom right - I'm at work so can't look right now, but it's either "options" or "functions"

Any AI run team will have an AI GM.

Game setup --> league setup tab --> middle column...

"Set all teams to AI control, fire all human managers"

Then, as Bluenoser said, you will have to go to Commissioner Mode if you want to tinker with a team. You can do this by choosing "Act as..." and selecting a team from the resulting drop down menu.

It's a fun way to play OOTP, DaveM - in fact it's pretty much the only way I play the game. I love creating all kinds of fictional leagues and then following how the teams do, tracking the star players and awards, etc, without any added pressure from running a team. If you want to start out a league like this, when you create your manager, just have him start unemployed and check the commissioner mode box.
