My first drug related suspension

For the first time this year I play with the 2011 quickstart untill I feel safe to start playing seriously (usually in september) and for the first time one of my player was suspended because of a drug test... Too bad it's one of my good pitcher (he even pitch a 2 hit shutout before being injured)

I know it isn't that big for most players but for me it's a first since I usually play 19th century

In one of my leagues in OOTP 11 I created a female friend of mine in the preseason solely to have a girl in my league. She was then suspended for failing a drug test the week before the season lol.

I clicked the button to start the game, and failed the drug test. It wouldn't let me load for three games.

I believe there is a button to disable drug suspensions in the game set-up

Now offering the OOTP12 Plugin requiring you to take a breathalyzer each time you try to load a game file!

Are drug suspensions tied to performance? Better performance = you're on the gas? Poor performance = you're on the dope?

It's mostly random. Players with low intelligence and/or work ethic are more likely to "use" than players with high intelligence and/or work ethic.

I had this issue with an all-power, no-contact Mike Carp in 2011 of a Mariners franchise. He must've been an easy target given his skill set.

It should also be noted that the player becomes "disliked" in local/national popularity when this happens, so it kind of stinks. I traded Carp that year to Tampa Bay, so I didn't notice if it carries over to the year after he was suspended for PEDs.

After his return as Matt said the guy was disliked and awfull... In 3.2 innings he gave 8 ER on 8 hits and 4 BB plus 2 homeruns. After that game the General Manager sent him to Jupiter (our other team in the RL) where I guess he will disapear before being release next year after the draft. It will be a short career for the team 25th choice in the 2011 draft who looked like a promising prospect before all this.
