Corrupt world database?

I worked on a setup yesterday, and when I started the game today I got an error message to the effect of "world file corrupted will try to load from backup" and then the inevitable "restoration failed".

I never saw anything like this in 11, and didn't mess with the .xml world file or anything. I did edit the baseball levels of countries from the in-game tool, and a bunch of player ratings.

Has anyone seen this error message before? I am not overly worried about getting those files back, it was to be a test game anyway, but this reminded me a lot of the old Windows blue screen of death that was so frustrating BITD.
