League Expansion by 5 Teams - Is This Possible?

After my current 2008 season I want to bring in 5 new teams. 1 team folds.
Has anyone tried bringing in 5 teams before if you deleted 1 team already?

I have a feeling I will just have to move Trout, the team that folds to another city and just bring in 4 teams.

Side question I have 12 teams currently with AAA only...How many players should each team protect? each team has approx 45 players at AAA.
Each of the new teams will get anywhere between 2 - 9 solid players in the amateur draft after the expansion draft.

I would move one franchise if I were you rather than trying to expand with an odd number. I thought the AI only gives you choices of even numbers for expansion anyway.

As for draft, I usually allow 25-27 to be reserved. The small number usually leads to plundering the minor league teams in the strongest farm systems. If one team is really depleted I usually edit a player back to the losing team (figuring that a real draft would have limited the number one team could lose).

Yeah I forgot that I could only expand by 2-4-6 etc...I have to figure out how I want to do this to reflect what orig happened in my league. The team that is folding has 4 main stars on it 2 go to the team of the teens, 1 goes to the Marlins and 1 goes to Japan. Most likely I will release just those 4 guys and move the team & remainder of players to the team that takes Trout's place, Steel Mill.

25-27 in a 12 team league? i can do that easily since my AAA has 47 players on it.
