Error -202

Anyone know what to do with this error? It occurs when I try to export my team in an online league. I am on a Mac, and I fear this may be the root of the problem.

Also, when I try to import a new league file, I get an error that says " Can not unzip the file."

Any help is appreciated

note: this is not error 201

Note2: I have submitted a ticket 4-5 days ago, but have yet to hear back from support. Unusual, as I typically have a response within an hour of submitting a ticket.

I don't think this a Mac issue. Are you in an official OOOL? or just a regular online league that hasn't joined OOOL? The reason I ask is that the OOOL system is getting some further, more intensive testing right now and several fixes are expected in coming patches.

Also, check with your commissioner to find out if there are any other league members seeing the same thing. If your commissioner is experienced with OOTP, you might get some advice to get you fixed up.

I get this error when I try to download a new league file and there is no new league file. Maybe the same is occurring to you (that you have the newest file already). Note this is for a non-OOOL league.

Thanks for the help, guys.

This is a league that is not on the OOOL yet, due to the issues that are being experienced.

I have checked with others in the league and it only seems to occur on the Macs.

I was hoping that someone may have seen this issue arise and figured out a solution, but it appears as though this may just be a bug.

Alan, I knew, without a doubt, that was a new league file available. The error occurs in both instances (whether there is a new league file available or there isn't).

I am quickly getting frustrated with OOTP support. I finally received a response to my open ticket with little information and nothing that is working towards a solution.

Is there a person who can decipher the above stuff to help me troubleshoot this error, since the OOTP support people have little interest in doing that.

Again, all help is appreciated.

That looks to me like the method of file transfer that was coded into this year's version is using a newer/quicker/more efficient method to transfer to help improve performance, but is not supported by the mac version of ChilKat and is bombing out.

I don't have a mac version to test this on or to test last year's to see if anything has changed there. I'll log a bug on this and see if I can get the developer to look further at this since I don't have the knowledge/access to the actual code to go any further on this.

My best suggestion would be to manually export your file locally and then email it (if the commish will allow for that). You should be able to get around file download issues I am assuming if the Commish sets the league up for HTTP download (not FTP).

Alan, Thank you. That makes sense. At least I have partial confirmation that this is a bug. Been pulling hair out with my computer trying to get it to work.

Just a follow up that I should have mentioned before...

If the problem is what I think is the problem, it should only affect users in non-OOOL leagues. Because of the way OOOL works, I don't think mac users will have a problem there (if I understand the way everything works behind the scenes correctly)

The league I am helping to test is having the same issue. Non-OOOL and Windows users are working and Mac users are not working.

Byzeil, Thanks for the info. This is what I have seen as well. Here's hoping that the guys get OOOL working well enough to encourage leagues to move to it, or maybe even the patch fixing this error in non-OOOL leagues.

I did communicate this to the developer, so hopefully it will get some attention. It is pretty sure that any fix for this won't be in this week's patch, but hopefully it will get fixed for the next one!

Well good news and bad news in that post, Alan.

Glad to hear there could be a fix on the way but it sure does put me in a difficult spot with respect to the leagues I'm currently in. I know that the leadership in the leagues has been extremely patient as I know I am in the minority (Being a Mac owner). The commissioners have been great in sending whole league files to me, and great in receiving manual exports from me. I fear their patience will only last so long, though. If this issue is delayed any longer than the next patch, I fear I will have to resign from my teams. If that occurs, I will most certainly be firm in asking for a refund as I am a strictly online player.

Alan, if there is any way to communicate the urgency of this issue to the developer, I would be very much grateful.

Thanks in advance.

Well, part of your problem could be solved even in a non-OOOL league if your league can switch to download league file via HTTP instead of FTP. I am going to assume that might still work for Macs. (I don't know for sure, but think it should work)

You still would have an issue with exports, but thats one thing that could be tried.

If one of the mac users that is having this problem could install the new ootp patch and see if the problem is fixed, that would be very helpful to me.

Thanks!

Not working for me, Alan. Still get error 202 on the export and "Cannot unzip file" on the import.

I installed the patch and still get the -201 cannot connect error. I have put in a technical support ticket but I was told that this was fixed in the patch but clearly it was not.

Ok, testing the upcoming patch ahead of time, this looks like its working now with the next patch. Hopefully good news for you mac users out there. (Not fixed in 12.1.10, but the next one it will be).
