? on player editing

I see many rating issues have been updated in the 1st patch - much improvement, I believe. That said, I still believe OOTP is behind the curve on some of the younger current MLB players.

However, this is not a bitch or complaint, merely leading up to a question, as I am planning to go ahead and adjust several players that I think could have been projected better leading into the 2011 season on my own. No big deal.

My question is - it's pretty obvious where to make adjustments in player editor. However, when you do adjust ratings/stats for an individual player, do you then need to go to the game setup and adjust league totals to reflect the differences for each player so they are compatible?

Thanks

No, the league totals on the setup screen are just a guideline for the game to use to create the stats. Individual player ratings have no bearing on it.

The one thing you DO want to do is after you have made all the edits you desire is to hit the Auto-Calc button to get the modifiers set correctly, because your player edits WILL change the overall stats otherwise.

For example if, with no edits, simming the league with its current settings produces a league batting average of .265 and then you make a lot of edits to make players better, the next sim is likely to see the league batting average go up. If you hit Auto-Calc however, after the edits, the league batting average will again be close to .265 (or whatever it would have been without the edits).

Gotcha ...

Not going to make a lot of edits, just a handful on players I'm very familiar with in organizations I follow closely ... want to keep everything kosher with the league overall though and it sounds like this should do it ...

Thanks

If I don't have league ROY, MVP and Cy Young winners, it won't be my fault!
