Starting Unemployed
I have only played the demo for ootp 11 so I really dont know how this works. But if i want to start from the ground up being unemployed at first do teams actually make offers to a manager who has never had a gig? And if so when would this happen during the season, during the offseason? Or Will i just have to sim until a job opens up. Thanks for any help

You will have job offers from the begining from at least 7 or 8 teams. If you sim these jobs may fill and others may open up but I'm not sure about that. And if you play in comissioner mode you can have any job. |

Thanks for the answer, although i tried this in the demo and there were no offers at the start. But I suppose I can just try and see how it goes. Thanks again

How are you searching for jobs? They won't contact you by email. But there is a menu that allows you to "apply for jobs" There should be several you can apply for. And if you apply you automatically get the job. |

At the end of the season minor league managing jobs always open up, and those are usually offered to you.

it's different for everyone, I have had leagues where there were 100's of job openings, 5 openings & one to two times 0.

To be more specific, in OOTP 11, the minor league jobs did open up at the end of the season. But at the end of the minor league season. So once the first minor league seasons end, you want to be checking that wire everyday. Even if you get a job, you can still "upgrade" to a higher level. It's not too hard to skip some of the lower levels completely and be in the Majors after only a few seasons. As an example, you may be offered Double-A jobs right from Short Season A-ball.
Of course, this is all expecting that you use minors at least similar to the real world setup with seasons that end before the ML season does. I'd assume OOTP 12 will probably be similar, but I never like assuming anything when it comes to stuff like this.
