Professional Boxing Olympics

The universe start year is 1901, and the first Boxing Olympics will be scheduled for the year 1904 and then every 4 years after that.

This will be a mixed universe where RFG fighters, all retired real boxers, fictional boxers and user created boxers will be competing to win the highly coveted Boxing Olympic Gold medal. This will be a P4P universe where everyone from any weight class will be fighting each other.

To build some history, I have started the universe on 1891 and generated 130 RFG fighters distributed evenly from beginning to end career stages each year and 810 fighters remain active at the end of year 1900.

130 boxers will be joining the universe each year, 100 RFG fighters distributed evenly from pre-prime to end career stages. The other 30 slots will be allocated for retired real boxers, fictional boxers and user created boxers. They will all start at beginning career stage.

Fighters will be fighting in 10 round fights for regular matches. Boxing Olympics will be 12 rounds for the Round of 64 until the Elite 8. The Final Four and the Championship matches will be 15 rounds.

The Boxing Olympics is a 64-man unseeded single elimination tournament. To qualify for the Boxing Olympics, you must be in the top 64 P4P rankings at the end of the year preceding the Boxing Olympics. Also, a minimum of 10 fights must be fought by a fighter to be considered for a spot in the tournament.

Fighters will only be retired if they announce their retirement and will be effective immediately unless they are currently still active in the tournament. If this is the case, then they will be retired as soon as their participation in the tournament is completed. Additionally, fighters will also be forced to retire by the Olympic Boxing Commission if they are deemed to be unable to compete at a high level (as soon as they reach negative performance points). Lastly, fighters must fight at least 1 match in their debut year or else their boxing license will be irrevocably terminated.
