Baltimore Orioles Cursed?
The Orioles havent had a winning season since 1997. 2011 looked promising but that is slowly fading. I've simmed 2011 on iOOTP a few times with the O's. They started off pretty decent only to finish under .500 and in last or next to last place every time.
I love this game but its very depressing!

Good luck.
I think I'll take the Pirates for a ride, and if I can make them winners by 2027 I'm happy.

Nice!
I'm currently 6-4 and in 1st. But its WAY early. Yeah, I need to do some trading. I had a 14-7 start recently but ended dive bombing. |

I did it with an amazing 4 man rotation, excellent defense and excellent base running. No power hitters on my team, basically just a lineup of ricky hendersons! Last edited by magicspeedo; 05-10-2011 at 01:37 PM. |

I had a 4 man rotation of all guys who were 4 1/2 star or better. All of them had at least 17+ for 'stuff', 15+ for movement, & 15+ for control. They completely dominated.
Add that with ultra aggressive base running/stealing and a team where 7/9 starters had +18 in base running and +15 in stealing, you get a team that basically can manufacture runs at will. So the championship team was a team with 4 legitimate Ace pitchers and a ton of contact hitters who were fast as crap and given a green light to run at will. The only game of the playoffs I lost was one in the world series, other than that, it was an unstoppable team. On a side note, one of the pitchers (who was either 23 or 24) got hurt in the first week of the next season and never pitched again. Freaking injury setbacks! Now my rotation is weak because 2 of those 4 have retired by this point. |

By the way, the trick was signing Pujols in the first offseason as a free agent, then trading him for some quality prospects a year or two later....one of them was Strasburg (who by that time wasn't a prospect, but a legit pitcher)

![]() IMO it's a fun style to watch on TV/in-person. One runner gets on, puts pressure on the defense, they screw up a play (try to rush a pitch when the runner goes, hurry a throw, etc) and it starts an avalanche of mental errors that becomes a perpetual run machine. |

I think everyone hit at least .270 for the season (most hit around .290), and I KNOW that I had the top 3 players in stolen bases
