OOTP 11 iPhone Questions
Hello there
I am very new to OOTP, I just bought the OOTP11 game for iphone/ipod following reading an article about it on the Operation Sports website. I'm very interested in management games, and I thought I'd give it a go, as I am very new to Baseball as well as OOTP. However, I have some questions about the app and hope someone can point me in the right direction. 1. How do I increase a baseball player's fitness, or assign training such as catching, fielding, batting, etc? 2. How do I hire/fire coaches? 3. There is an option to view finances in the menu "Front office", etc; but I can't seem to set budgets for advertising, ticket prices, etc. Is this available in another menu? 3a. In the "Front Office" there is a "budget" but what is this budget for; and why cannot I not change the budget or ask the board for an increase? 4. When on the home screen (main menu) it tells me that I can advance 1 day or 1 week. What is the advantage of advancing 1 day over 1 week except for time? 5. I often find players losing morale, presumably because they are not in the main lineup, however I cannot change positions of players in "active roster" but need to go into "lineups" -- Why is active roster even needed? 6. When I advance 1 day or 1 week it never plays any matches unless I physically tell it to "play match at Detroit, etc". Or rather, it plays the matches, but never gives me a summary of the results for my team? Thanks |

zardon, welcome to the game and the forums. I wish I could answer your questions about iOOTP but I know nothing about it. I do know that there are significant differences in iOOTP 11 versus OOTP 11 for PC. While you may get a response here from sharp-eyed iOOTP members who spot your thread, you may want to post your questions in the iOOTP 2011 - General Discussions forum to improve your chances of a response. Or, perhaps a moderator would be so kind as to move this thread for you.

2. There are no coaches in the iPhone version of OOTP 3. I'm pretty sure ticket prices aren't apart of iOOTP, at least not yet. The budget is for extending contracts and hiring new players 4. There is no advantage, those options are simply there if you don't want to actually play the games. 5. The 'active roster' is your 25 man roster (the players that play on your big league club). Any player in your organization not on your active roster is in your minor league system. The players still develop 6. Correct, if you want to see a box score of the simulated game, go to your League screen and then click on scores Hopefully those help! |

Thanks, I appreciate your help.
I've always been interested in management games, and am even trying to code my own for iPhone and am often trying to learn how different companies solve similar problems as well as general game mechanics. Thanks for your help. |
