Playing a prospect in majors instead of minors

I have a question. If i have a hot shot prospect but he isnt fully developed (say a 5 rating in hitting average, but has a brilliant talent in this category) Would it hurt his developement progress by me putting him in the majors (given a full time starting oppurtunity)? Lets also say the hitting coach's rating is brilliant and the AAA minors coach's developement rating is a brilliant also. Anybody that knows something about this please help, any help will be greatly appreciated.

In your example, he is ready to come up to the bigs. Usually for me. Once my prospects get to be about 4-5 rated and I have a need for them I call them up.

Take in mind though that not every player develops at the same pace. He may take 2 years to reach his full potential. He may blossom in the next month in your league. And he may never develop to his full potential.

To answer your question, in my experience he will not be hurt by bringing him up. Just be patient.

I agree with holycow. He could probly hold his own against ML pitching, and it wouldnt stunt his growth. If it was me though i'de try and keep him down until he was a 7 or 8, unless I really needed him. THat way you dont waste a year or 2 off his contract.

How old is he? That would help me decide when to definitely have him up by.

If he were under 22-23, I'd leave him down for at least a little while longer. Over that, it's time to see what he has, regardless.

I just wanted to see if bringing a player up can stunt their growth, i believe in FPS bbpro if u leave them in the Low minors they progress better, i just want to know if the same thing happens in OOTP
