Reverse order universe (HW)

Boxing resurgence - First professional card in 84 years is a success

January 2nd 2100

NEW YORK, America - Boxing’s first profesional card in 8 decades, the first since the Great Darkness, was held yesterday outside of New York. In the Main Event, as part of a tournament to determine the first Terra Boxing Revival (TBR) champion, Robert Helenius defeated Deontay Wilder via unanimus decision in what could be considered an upset. "We had Wilder as number 8 while Helenius was ranked 9th" spoke Hari Adams, the event’s promoter.

In a bout that saw Wilder take a fall in each of the fourth and the seventh rounds of a fight scheduled for eight, the final scores where 77-73 from all three ringside judges, all in favor of the winner, Robert Helenius of Scandinavia. "He fought a great fight. Both wanted the win and came to fight" said Adams.

In the co-feature bout of the evening, two British fighters went at it also in a tournament bout as Tyson Fury beat David Price by TKO in the fouth round after a severe cut was reopened under the defeated’s left eyebrow. Price also suffered a knockdown in the fourth.

An alternate tournament bout was held between Magomed Abdusalamov and Tom Dallas which the former took by KO in the fourth in a higly contested match. "If one of the 16 participants from the tournament gets injured, the winner of the alternate bout will replace him" confirmed the promoter.

In the first bout of the evening, prospect Odlanier Solis made short work of Nagy Aguilera by finishing him in the 3rd round after landing a devastating hook. Aguilera did not answer the count of 10 and probably could not have answered a count of 25. Even if Solis is not in the tournament, he definately showed that he could be one of the first in line to challenge the soon-to-be crowned champion.

Quick results:
Robert Helenius (1-0) UD8 Deontay Wilder (0-1) - Round of 16 TBR tournament
Tyson Fury (1-0) KO4 David Price (0-1) - Round of 16 TBR tournament
Magomed Abdusalamov (1-0) KO4 Tom Dallas (0-1) Alternate bout for TBR tournament
Odlanier Solis (1-0) KO3 Nagy Aguilera (0-1)

Hello all, long time lurker around these parts.

It probably has been done already but I figured I would make a ''Reverse'' universe where I add fighters based on their debut date in a reverse order. 2010 up to 1800 instead of the more usual way.

This should give us some good matchups as we see the likes of a Young Wlad take on an older Fury, a prime Larry Holmes versus a washep up Tyson or way down the line, a young Joe Louis handle an older Marciano.

Anyway, I decided to write the universe in here even though:
1. I am not a first-language english speaker
2. I have no ''Writing'' experience
3. I have not an ounce of boxing knowledge you guys all seem to have around here.

Hopefully, writing here will keep me interested in the project.

Thank you

Boxing - TBR Tournament favorite advances by Technical Knockout

January 23, 2100

NEW YORK, America - Lucas Browne showed the world why he was the favorite to win the TBR’s tournament by repeatetly stunning Clarence Tillman until the referee had seen enough. The bout was stopped at 1:49 of the third round after an onslaught of 82 punches were received. Tillman protested lightly but you could see he was out of it.

Browne (1-0) will now face Robert Helenius (1-0) who defeated tough Deontay Wilder 3 weeks ago in boxing’s first card since 2015. "This is gonna be a great fight" said Hari Adams, promoter of the event. "Both those guys have been very impressive. I expect we could see one of them in the final. Then again, we still have 3 first round bout to come with some great boxers, be sure to check it out next month, February 19th if I remember correctly."

The co-main event of the evening put 7th favorite Erkam Teper versus Kubrat Pulev. The fight was nearly stopped in the second stanza after Pulev was put down 2 times. The rest of the fight proved uneventfull until a severe cut was suffered by Teper in the 8th, the last scheduled round. Teper took the fight by unanimus decision with scores of 78-71, 78-71 and 77-72.

The first tournament bout of the evening saw number 12 favorite Arthur Szpilka take a unanimus decision over a very game Ismaikel Perez. Perez, surviving 2 knockdowns early in the fight, came out strong to win the last 2 rounds and outland Szpilka 176 to 154 in total punches landed. Still it was little to late for the Cuban. Final scores were 76-73, 76-73 and 75-74, Szpilka was deducted a point in the 3rd round after fouling Perez below the belt.

In the first bout of the evening, a missmatched Oscar Talemaira was dispatched with 26 seconds to go in the second round after being on the receiving end of a vicious 4 punch combination. Chisora (1-0) mentionned in the post-fight interview that he did not train for this fight and still dispatched a very tough opponent... We’ll keep a watch on this one as a potential challenger for our first TBR heavyweight champion.

Quick results:
Lucas Browne (1-0) KO3 Clarence Tillman (0-1) - Round of 16 TBR tournament
Erkam Teper (1-0) UD8 Kubrat Pulev (0-1) - Round of 16 TBR tournament
Arthur Szpilka (1-0) UD8 Ismaikel Perez (0-1) - Round of 16 TBR tournament
Derek Chisora (1-0) KO2 Oscar Talemaira (0-1)

Boxing - Tournament round of 16 ends

February 19th, 2100

NEW YORK, America - The last three bouts in the opening round of the TBR Heavyweight toutnament took place tonight and once again delivered us a good dose of excitement. "I don’t even know half the rules for this sport but this is quite an awesome spectacle, especially in these times" a member of the audience was heard saying.

In the Main Event, 3rd seed Bryant Jennings defeated Seth Mitchell by KO at 2:42 of Round 2. Hari Adams, TBR’s Mastermind, was available for some comments: "To me, after seing the 8 fights of the first round, Jennings looks to be maybe the fastest, the quickest boxer we have in the tournament. Tonight, he looked like a beast. I wonder how Ruiz will be able to handle him in the next round after his war tonight".

In the co-main event, Andy Ruiz did move up to the next round after engaging in a war with Luis Ortiz. No knockdowns were scored, no cuts were suffered but the action was relentless from the start of the first round up to the final bell in the 8th. A judge saw it a draw while the other two had Ruiz ahead 77-75, giving him the majority decision. We would not complain seing those two go at it again some time down the line.

In the first tournament bout of the evening, a lone knockdown in the fourth round gave Vyatcheslav Glazkov the margin he needed to win a unanimous decision over Tor Hamer in an otherwise close and entertaining matchup. Judges scores where 76-75 across the board.

Quick results:
Bryant Jennings (1-0) KO2 Seth Mitchell (0-1) - Round of 16 TBR tournament
Vyatcheslav Glazkov (1-0) UD8 Tor Hamer (0-1) - Round of 16 TBR tournament
Andy Ruiz (1-0) MD8 Luis Ortiz (0-1) - Round of 16 TBR tournament

Other Results:
Travis Kauffman (1-0) KO2 Joe Hanks (0-1)

Too bad that Luis "King Kong" Ortiz lost. I was hoping he'd go further in the tournament.

Here's my predictions:
Browne over Helenius
Szpilka over Glazkov
Jennings over Ruiz Jr
Fury over Teper
