Questionable AI decisions

Hey everyone, I am having some difficulty with the AI and I'm not sure if this is a bug in programming or if I have missed some configuration setting somewhere. I love this game and have a great time with it. As I am moving through my career, I would like to hand some of the day to day tasking with the AI in order to get more done, but in doing so I've witnessed them making some very odd decisions that I just don't undertand.

Primarily, there seems to be some big block with them promoting the appropriate skill players from AAA to the Majors. I have several 5 star (not potential, current skill) at the AAA level and yet the AI refuses to bump them up to the majors and insted stock my Major roster with a bunch of half star bums. I even tried to force the issue by releasing all of those players and the AI was fully content with leaving my active roster with only 8 players.

I tried it a different way in that I created a super star pitcher. With my manual intervention he went on at the pro level to win the triple crown 3 times, outstanding pitcher 4/5 times, all star 4/5 times, and just ripped all the stat categories. The AI goes on to thank him by demoting him at every opportunity and even releasing him twice.

To my knowledge I've provided these players with major league contracts. They are not ghost players for filling minor league teams, I have that option turned off. I am able to manually promote these players to the bigs and they always do great.

It seems that this problem always happens with the players that are created by the game as opposed to players that are based off of actual MLB players (both stars and bench warmers).

Any thoughts on if this is a bug or if I haven't configured something correctly? Please let me know! Thanks!

I did review my installed version number as well. I'm 11.1.8 and in version 11.2.15 a problem has been addressed with the AI regarding releasing a top rated prospect. That's one thing anyway.

i personally havent noticed that yet in the 4 leagues i have played on here but, wish games would come out of the box and be right. in high heat if u didnt control all teams they would release all players 35 and older and bring up 18 yr old rookies that were drafted in the last draft.

i like ootp minus 1 thing which md thinks every1 is crazy for, but tired of pc sports games always to have multiple flaws. but thats why we will buy ootp 12,13,14,15 to have a game that didnt have teh flaws from the previous version just to have a new bug.

My suggestion is to setup the overall evaluation to based on the AI evaluation and set the weights for it yourself (ratings heavy or stats heavy or a mix).

Even then the AI will make mind boggling decisions, but I notice less of them.
