Historical League - New Players at year end?

I'm half way thru my first historical league season and it just dawned on me. What happens when the year ends? I'm hoping that next years crop of players that historically joined the team in the upcoming year wil appear on my team, presumably in the minors.

Will this happen? Do I have to take any overt action to make this happen?

Thanks ....

If you have turned off the draft then the players will go to the teams, otherwise you will have to draft them.

In League Setup, the Historical tab, check that it says Automatically Import Historical Rookies. Then decide what you want to do about the draft. The new rookies enter the game on the first day of pre-season, not Jan 1.

I have Automatically Import Rookies checked, so that's good. But I see the draft is enabled and being half way thru a season, it looks like there is no way to disable the draft... Is there a way to disable it? I sure would like historical rookies to be assigned to historical teams.

If there is no way, I assume all rookies will go into the draft and I'll just have to do what I can???

Thanks again...

I think you may be able to disable the draft on the first day of off-season, which is usually two days after the end of the world series. Whether that is soon enough to avoid a draft pool being created with those rookies, I'm not sure. If not, what you can do is look into making yourself commissioner, assigning the rookies to the correct teams and canceling the draft (which should delete the fictional players in the draft pool). Something like that. You may have to try a couple of different things to get it right (not forgetting to backup your league of course )
