Manager Tendencies Question

If I set my team tendences, but when watching a game I have my manager manage the game, is he using my team tendencies or his own since he is "managing" the game in the pre-game settings.

He calls the game according to the team strategy sliders. A manager's own strategy preferences come into play only when he is hired to a new team. At that time, his strategy preferences become the team preferences.

Is setting your team tendencies considered cheesing in solo play by most folks?

i play a few games then sim a few, depending on my mood. i have my sliders set for each catergory/inning/score.

but overall i try to play as many games myself as possible.

i am 12-24 so far which sucks since i have 3 of the top 10 players in the game.

Interesting notion. The team strategies that you get when you create a game are essentially random. As a general rule they don't vary too much from the midpoint on each slider, so that what you get as a whole is pretty much default decision making with a little variety from team to team.

When you set those sliders you are just de-randomizing it. But you would be doing the same thing if you called the plays yourself in each game. In my view, setting the sliders and then letting the AI manage the games according to those sliders makes for a much more competitive situation v. the AI than if you called the plays yourself.
