Relief pitcher brought in, wild pitch thrown
It seems like I have a very high percentage of relief pitchers being brought in,throwing a wild pitch and then being introduced as a substitution. Anyone else notice this happening quite frequently?

Not sure what you are asking about. Is it that the substitution is announced after an event involving that guy? That happens in a number of situations in the game. It's a known glitch in the way that the game engine interacts with the PbP text.

I didn't know that it was a known glitch that the player is announced after the action takes place. It still seems like the relief pitchers come in and throw a wild pitch for their first pitch way to often.

![]() I've even had it happen at the beginning of the game. At least twice this season (50 games so far), the game just starts without any introduction. Don't remember if THAT is a OOTPX carryover though. |

Never seen anything like that. I believe the problem in the OP only happens when you are playing in 1-pitch. The game engine/PbP text interface gets confused about what to display first, when some types of events occur. Wild pitches, PO plays, SBs, are examples where that can happen.

Course, I am afraid if I did start seeing them it would only be my pitchers not the AI's.

I seem to have a lot of Wild pitches and Passed Balls. If i want to lower both under "League Totals" Wild pitches being .900 and Passed balls .700, I would lower both of these numbers?

You could, but how do you know there are too many? What are the actual totals at the end of the season in your league. In 2009 MLB there were 1600 WP and 283 PB.

Me too, although of late I have wondered if this is partially because of the problem with relative differences (i.e. there isn't much) between catchers in the game which was discussed in another thread a few days ago.
And thanks to SteveP for his note above- I play in one pitch and have assumed that the garbled PbP was irrelevant, more or less, for gameplay, and it seems to be. It is mirrored in the game logs, however, so I wonder (and will check next time this happens) if the WP/PB/error is wrongly charged to the exiting pitcher. |

No ... with one unusual exception, which can occur when a pitcher is injured. The new pitcher always comes into the game showing that he's ready made one pitch. This can create some odd scoring issues sometimes. Not often.
