quick fix
Please turn down the amount of times the AI tries to steal 3b. This seems a far too common tactic, especially when the ai has a speed runner at 2nd and less than 2 outs. Too many runs are being wasted on a high risk low reward play and he frequency seems to be much higher than RL.

how good is your C. Mine has a 10 for an arm runners in 58 games have ran on him a total of 14 times getting picked 7 of of those times. my backup C has an arm of 6. runners r 8 for 14 vs him. And u can turn this up or down in the setup which i personally dont bother with.
and they dont steal 3B but maybe 5 times a season vs my team. |

What's even worse is the amount of times a team will be behind by 1 or 2 run-in the late innings, will have runners at 1st and 2nd, with one out and the batter will waste an out sacrificing them to second and third

That one has merit worth discussion in its own thread, though I am noting it for review before release. It echoes a couple of concerns on my checklist. I'm not sure the strategic rules are iron-clad there, but I'd be interested in hearing all comments.

The in-game AI does not do a very good job with late game situational strategy. Just to mention a few..... The above mentioned attempt to steal 3b when trailing later in the game (not that it never happens IRL, it just happens too often in OOTP). Intentional walks with 2b occupied to set up a double play, with a 3 run (or more) lead.....not done. Sacrifice bunting when trailing by more than one run and, for example, only six outs to play with........would never happen. Failing to PH for a Pitcher when trailing because the team has no "rested" relievers........both a roster management AI issue and an in-game AI issue. If you play out games (and I do), you'll regularly see all of the above. There are many, many other in-game AI issues (late-game and otherwise), but the above are examples of late game problems that really stand out when playing out games and effect the feel of "realism". |

TBS all of those r valid to a degree. I tend to be leading after 6 (59-16) so i dont see the AI doing much of those that often. As I stated eralier most teams dont run on my C no matter which base it is other then 2 -3 guys league wide. They do bunt way too often with the pitcher up to bat and dont double switch enough nor PH for him late in game even if they r already on their 3rd or 4th MR.
I do see then intentionally walk batter in my lineup often whether they r winning or losing, but they tend to walk a bad hitter to set up the double play and the next guy hwho is batting has been torching them all day. example I was leading by 2 in the top of the 9th on the road.my 8th place hitter got on, i ph for my MR and he grounded out or k'd. they walk my leadoff hitter who is batting .290 10hr 32 rbi to face my C who is basically Pudge Rodriguez who at the time in the game was 3-3 with a 3 run hr and 4 rbi. he hits another hr over the LF fence now i am leading by 5. then my 2 best hitters both struck out. From my POV this game is better overall when it comes to situational batting/fielding then most but still not perfect. |
