Players get imported twice - please help

I am running a historical league from 1962 on.

I have the draft the rookie draft the day after awards are announced.
Historical rookies are in the draft. Then once the preseason starts in February the historical rookies get imported ass well and put onto teams.

I can not figure out the option to stop this and have only the historical players imported for the draft.

Please help.

When you have the game automatically import rookies you cannot have the draft scheduled before I believe November 1st or 15th (cant remember exactly). This causes the game to import 1 year ahead of time and then again when the preseason starts. Once this happens the 1st year it occurs each year afterward.

Look at it this way...you start 1962 and then have a draft scheduled in June. In June, the 1962 rookies are already there so it looks at 1963 rookies and imports them. Now, the next year's preseason begins and it knows to import 1963 rookies next, and in June 1964 rookies.

The key is to have the draft late enough that the season is over and it'll look at it as the next years players.

Right now I have the draft as happening on November 1 and the players revealed 75 days prior to the draft. Is all of this too early? Should the draft be the day after the preseason starts?

Thanks for your help.

November 1 should be fine. That's the default. I've glad someone mentioned this problem so I can change this in my games. Kind of a wierd problem but at least the fix is easy enough. You can always try without draft too. I think that would avoid the problem. Not really sure though. Any input from people who've tried this would be greatly appreciated.
