Want to relive history as it occurred
I would like to start with 1901 Boston Red Sox and manage them thru there history. But I don't want fictional transactions to be made. Can I set the options to have signing, drafts, trades, etc. to occur just like they actually did. My goal is to become familiar with The real Red Sox roster thruout history. Thank You.

OOTP does not recreate the real-world historical transactions. So if you want historically accurate trades and signings you'll have to do it yourself.
Note that, as far as I'm aware, there is no database available anywhere which lists the historical recalling and optioning of players nor their assignments to and activations from the disabled list. |

Also, that 1922-32 stretch would be maddening - eleven years in a row of absolutely terrible teams. The Red Sox finished last in the AL in 9 of 11 years (and were pretty bad in those other two years too), and had 100+ losses five times. If you could manage that without going nuts, kudos to you.

You could manage the Red Sox to be as strong as you can by showing partiality to some of your favourite players, and trading off the ones you know they should have traded off for all those years. Last edited by Shazbat; 06-10-2010 at 11:19 PM. |
