To Buy or Not to Buy
I have owned every version since OOTP 4. But I putzed around and putzed around and missed every preorder deadline and now I am struggling for reasons to purchase OOTP 11 at full price. I have even gone as far as to download the game but I am having trouble pulling the trigger to purchase it. So guys what I need are some good solid reasons to buy OOTP 11 and abandon OOTP 10. Please serious only. I know it runs faster and baserunning controls have been improved but what else from your experience will I get. Thanks

It's a no brainer.
Just read some threads in this forum (by the way, that's what forums are for) and you will soon realize that OOTP11 is the best one yet. Enough said. |

Have you read all the Road to Releases? They are unstickied but should be around. I think they are in the newsletters too.

Buy it. Get a copy of the new Dragon Age, too, it rocks.

Since I started working in tech support, I got to download the beta when it first became available and at first, I must say I was underwhelmed. Some of the features weren't yet implemented and there were more glitches and it just wasn't very polished yet. Also, I wasn't real happy with the changes to the interface at first (but now I really like it).
So I hardly played it at all even though I got to have it early. But then, when I was confident I could load up my OOTP 10 league and continue without problems and finally gave v11 a chance, it started to grow on me. It wasn't like I suddenly thought wow, this is the best OOTP ever. It took a week or so of playing with it and then I found that when I had to go back to v10 to help someone out with a problem, I couldn't enjoy it as much anymore. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it's not any particular feature. The list of features never really impressed me. I did like some of them, but it almost didn't seem worth it to me at first. I guess you could say that it's an example of something that's much more than sum of its parts. It really is the best OOTP ever. I know, not real helpful, but I just wanted you to consider that the list of features isn't enough to tell you how much you might enjoy and prefer this version. Besides, you said you started with v4 (like me), so why break a habit?

For me the way I play there is hardly any difference between 10 and 11. Speed may be the only noticeable thing but even thats not jump out of your chair different. The ONLY reason I bought it was the record book. Had I downloaded the demo first I would seen the so called record book is a joke and would have skipped this version.
