Can I do this?

I did this a few years back with an older version of OOTP and I'm stuck.

I want to start a historical league in 1870 or 1871, importing real players and rounding out the rest of the league with created minor leaguers.

I want a 32 team league that does not change through history. 162 game schedules and normalized stats. I do not want to change settings for historical accuracy.

Doing this I like to see how the older players career stats will compare to modern players.

I've tried creating a historical league and it won't let me change the structure. If I create a fictional league I don't see the option to import historical players.

Thanks!

Yeah, I was disappointed at the inability to tinker with the historical setup once it was created. There are workarounds, though I hope (and expect) that this will be fixed in an early patch.

Probably the easiest way I know of to do it would be to create a fictional league and set it up the way you want it, then import the individual historical players. I think there's a problem with getting historical players to import into a fictional league, but hopefully someone can post what the current quick workaround is.

Another option (and what I used to get my 1871 league off the ground): create the league in OOTP 10 as a fictional league, set it up the way you want and check "automatically import historical players." Then import it into OOTP 11 before you actually do anything, and the game will remember that you want the historical guys.

To do the process you are shooting for

a) delete the ODB file in the stats directory
B) create a teams file that has 32 teams listed for each year and put it in stats folder replacing the teams file that is there
c) point to the master.csv file in stats when you create your league
d) make all the lines in era_stats for each year the same

That'll do ya.

Might be a better idea to rename files, rather than delete them. Unless the game can automatically regenerate that ODB file for you (when/if you want it in the future).
