Removing files

I created a test game and now I want to remove all references to it so it doesn't appear on the boot screen menu. How do I accomplish this?
Thanks, Mac

Delete the game's folder within your Saved Games folder. Whenever you start your new league, that game will be forgotten.

Just make sure you delete it after you've started a new game. If it is the last game you played in OOTP, OOTP will re-create the test.lg folder (or whatever you named it) even though there won't be any files in it, so you would have to delete it twice. Which kind of defeats the purpose of getting rid of it.

Just wait until you have created a new league or opened another league (other than the one you want to delete). That way the "to be deleted" league is not showing in the "Continue" button. Then you only have to delete it once.

Creating a new league first is no longer required nor has it been for a few versions. Just delete the lg folder in your saved games folder.

Next time you load OOTP it will be gone and you can create a new league.

Not in my experience. Ultimately it doesn't really matter since it is a meaningless file, but still.

Just to keep the facts straight, the game keeps track of the last league that was played so that you can just click the continue button without loading a league. If the league that was last played does not exist on disk any longer, the game WILL create it as an empty folder/directory.

That is an indisputable fact.

I'm not disputing anything, I'm telling you for a fact that it doesn't create a blank folder. That's been my experience. And I just tested it - no folder.

Sorry to dispute you Bluenoser but Irishray is correct. Four times I deleted the file within "saved games" and four times it appeared when I re-booted OOTP. I looked at the file and it was empty each time. This time I will follow the suggestion to create a new game and then delete my test. Don't know if it matters but I'm running Windows XP.
