Individual pitch ratings for batters

I don't think I've seen this in the feature listing for 11 so I'll put my official request to have it in 12. Now that we have individual pitch ratings for pitchers, it only seems to make sense that we would have the same thing for hitters.

Im assuming that you mean hitting ability for each type of pitch? IF so, I would think that would be a good way to improve the Pitcher-Batter matchup.

Pedro Cerrano!!

"This guy is good why has no one signed him? See what he does when you throw a curve ball."

"I pray to Jobu to help me hit the curve ball... Screw you Jobu I do it myself!"

Gotta love Major League.

More seriously, this has more to do with eye and Ks. For major leaguers it isn't they can't hit the junk. It is if they can tell when the breaking ball will actually be a ball and when it will not. A guy who can't hit a curveball, Eric Anthony in the 90's, won't be in the majors long. There is too much scouting and opposing teams will know this and he will get nothing but breaking balls. He learns to hit them quick or goes packing as the Astros did when they traded Eric Anthony. It might be a reason why someone doesn't make the majors.

However, I still think it is captured in eye and Ks. That is how good a batter is at telling balls from strikes and whether or not he can put wood on the ball (not necessarily for a hit which is contact). Low eye and low Ks means the breaking stuff gives him problems. He swings at balls and doesn't make contact. Low eye and High Ks means he doesn't walk much but gets wood on the ball even when it is bad. High eye and low K would mean he can tell balls from strikes but can't handle heat or can't handle breaking or off speed stuff in the zone. You could have a guy with low eye, high Ks, and low contact which would he doesn't strike out or walk much. He usually makes contact but rarely hits where they ain't.
