League Template Question

I've setup a league complete with uniforms, logos, players and adjusted ratings. I saved it as a template. I simmed up to the All-Star Game(2009) but I want to start the league over from Jan 1 since I wanted to adjust some ratings again. When I start a new league and import the template the previous season seems to be in progress even though it's now Jan 1, 2010. The standings remain from the previous year, everybody s/b 0-0 shouldn't they? I can't manage a game until I sim past the All Star game. I just want to start the season over. I've erased all league history and player stats. I've tried saving as a QuickStart and restarting. It seems the difference between a Template and QuickStart is the QS saves the jerseys, ballcaps and images also. The online manual did not help and searching didn't either.

I'm not sure I understand your question. But I thought league started from templates started at the in-game date the template was made from.

That's what I thought. I just want to start a league from Jan 1, 2010 with the same players and league structure with the history and stats reset. I know I'm doing something wrong, I haven't used templates before.
