Protecting a season while I upgrade

I tried version 8 for free and I enjoy it very much. I set up a fictional league with 1947 settings and I'm up to 1956. I run one club but auto-play all of the games. I'm considering upgrading to version 10. Will it update my league without destroying anything -- stats, rosters, minors, etc.?

I can't answer that. But you can always make a backup copy of the league just in case. A forum search may provide some better answers about the version to version import process.

I would say make a backup of the game and get the demo for ootpX and import it. Run some tests with it and see how it comes out. I never played 8, but I heard leagues from 9 going into x had problems. Good luck.

The pitcher evaluation model and the way in which pitchers qualify to be starters has changed in vX. Very much for the better IMO. However there is no way to predict how a v8 leagues pitchers will come out of the import. You may not be happy.

There are several threads on this. You should search and make an informed decision.

It is always best to upgrade during the offseason.
