help with a logo

Hey. I made this logo, and whenever I put it into the game, the area around the circular logo is white. How can I remove this when putting the logo into the game?

I either make the back transparent using GIMP2 or you can also erase the white part in GIMP as well.

i made it transparent in photoshop. will it work if i make it transparent in GIMP?

Saved it as a PNG using PSP9. I just removed the background.
