Importing historical player?
Where do I find the codes for importing historical players. ex. ruthba01. Any suggestions would be awesome.

In general, it is the first five letters of the last name followed by the first two letters of the first name + 01. Obviously the 01 is just a counter and could be increased for common names (e.g. there is obviously a griffke01 and 02).
If you REALLY want to see, you can open up the Lahman dbase with a dbase program and look through the ids yourself. But I find guessing much less hassle. |

You can also go to Baseball Reference and click on a players page. The html has his info in it that you need for importing into OOTP.

I am trying to import historical player and filled in the name code then I select import and it goes to the game files. What file do I select to import player file? I was assuming it was a .csv file but can't find it. Any ideas?
