AI stops scheduling and playing games (cross posted)
I do not know exactly where to post this, so I am posting it here and in the technical support forum. I apologize if doing so is inappropriate.
I have OOTP 10 with all the patches. I have been playing a fictional league, beginning with the 1870 season, with two sub-leagues of six teams, planning to let the AI control every team until 1905, whereupon I would take control of a team. The 1870 season had a 70-game schedule, a starting rotation of 2, and a World series; the league stats were similar to those of the 1960s, except with many more errors. Beginning in 1875 I went to a 110-game schedule (with somewhat fewer errors and a starting rotation of three), still with 6 teams per league, a World Series, and league stats that were essentially at the 1960s level. No problems through the end of the 1879 season.
Prior to the 1880 season, I went to a 150-game schedule, I reduced the error rate still further and began to use a 4-man rotation, still with six teams per league, a World Series, and league stats set to the level of the 1960s. The season played without a problem until the World Series, whereupon the AI stopped scheduling games. Not only did it not schedule (or play) the 1880 World Series, it failed to schedule (or play) the entire 1881-1884 seasons, though the days past on the game’s calendar. It was only after the 1884 "season" that I realized that no games had been played for four years!
So I tried again. I had this same problem the second time, but this time I made a quickstart game on the last day of the 1880 season, so I can continue playing if this problem can be fixed. I would prefer to continue on into the 1880 World Series and the 1881 season, but if I have to start over in 1870 I will, as long as I do not have this same problem again.
Does anyone know the solution to the problem of games no longer being scheduled and played?
Thank you,
Charles
