BZ 3535 : Retired Players

Started a new fictional league---in setup checked box "delete players that never reached majors"---have over two pages of retired players that never reached majors listed, checked all records none of them ever had a major league stat which makes sense as they were retired when game started---went in to delete them manually by clicking on the delete player button but no matter what I do they are still listed as retired players----hoe do I get them out ??
