They were not expected to be competitive in today's game, but they sure kicked the snot out of the Illini. Their QB, Blaine Gabbert, is a local St. Louis kid, and he was Rival.com's #5 top rated quarterback after his senior year in high school. Oddly, he wasn't red-shirted last year, and was activated for the year, and saw very little play. 319 yards passing, 25-33, and a QB rating of .... 186.96. Add in another 39 yards rushing, 4 TD's, and no INT's. Fun game to watch, but I'm not sure if Illinois has a defense.
