Baseball is easily the best sport ever invented. It involves the most difficult action in sports: using a round bat to strike a round ball that's moving at 90 mph and hit it squarely. A team sport that highlights each individaul player. A sport where each playing field can be different. And arguably the most asthetically pleasing sport.

IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

I'm not sure I consider baseball a sport, but it's still my favorite out of that list

From that list, I consider hockey to be the next best. I take football next (REAL football, not american), but I seriously question those that said basketball.

you ever hear george carlins definition of a sport.
Anything that doesnt involve a bat and a ball isnt a sport.
"Running....running isnt a sport its a way of getting somewhere'.

What do you consider a sport anyways?
I know golf takes a lot of skill but is it really a sport?
I would have to say racing seems like it would take a
lot of skill to drive a car at such great speeds.

To me it's Baseball. Here's why...

1) I can fall asleep on it and still know what's happening when I wake up.
2) It's pace allows me to fade in and out of full-fledged conversation with my son and still catch all the action at the same time.
3) The clean crack of the bat on a solid hit. There's nothing like that sound.
4) Anticipation. (Pehaps the main reason why the 'have to have it now,' generation just finds it hard to follow baseball.)

It's the pace of the game that I adore. Although I must admit that Games are to long now. The pace was much better when I was a kid.

Sometimes the grand ol' game can get quite boring. But bordom often sparks creativity. But, then all hell breaks lose in an instant. Man. There's nothing quite like baseball. We still need it.

DreamTeams took the words right out of my mouth. Baseball is the only sport for me. I've never been a "sports fan", but I've always loved baseball.

Ummmmmmmmm....isn't the result of a poll on your favorite sport in a baseball game forum pretty much a foregone conclusion?

After seeing how poorly my favorite sport is doing, I came to the same conclusion.

Basketball. For me, it is the most fun to play. I like to watch football the best though.

I won't laugh. If it wasn't for the McWilliams sisters and Capriati, the game would be much better though. As for the men, well, maybe they should change the game somehow to make it more interesting.
